GUEST: FABUGLOSS 'WHAT'S IN MY MAKEUP BAG?'

My current make up bag is a bright floral one I picked up from good old Primark, the reason I love it is not just beacause it was a bargain (£3 to be exact!) is beacuse it is divided into 2 separate see- through compartments so you can clearly find what you are looking for without having to rummage too much. My make up bag usually lives at the bottom of my handbag with all my other essentials so I like one that I can wipe clean and I usually keep my brushes separately in for hygenine reasons.

This bag can keep loads in it but for the purposes of this post I have pared the contents down to show you what I would usually wear in terms of an everyday make up. It wasn't easy to streamline! I absolutely love make up and carry all sorts of different things depending on what look I'm going for, but these are the staple items that I always have in my make up bag. Here goes...

Face: On my face for everyday I will start with Garnier BB cream in Medium to give me some light coverage, I find this works well on my skin which is slightly dry. This leaves it looking glowing and fresh. I would use may a MAC face and Body Foundation for a night-time look.

MAC Select Cover-Up in NW25: You only need a small amount of this as a little goes a long way. I find it's a really blendable concealer and tend to use it under the eyes and anywhere else I need extra coverage.

NARS Laguna Bronzer: I use this to contour my face and love that it has limited shimmer in it as most bronzers I've tried tend to be a bit on the glittery side.

Sleek Glisten Me Liquid Illuminator in Empress: I love this highlighter  just to give a golden glos to cheekbones, and browbones, again, you only need a tiny amount.

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream: This multi-puropse balm is an absolute staple for me and use it for everything from moisturing my lips, dry atches on my face, "setting" my brows, adding sheen and gloss to eyelids/cheekbones moisturising cuticles, soothing cuts/sore irritated skin...everyting! The one I have here is the fragrance free version as although I love this, I'm not so keen on the strong smell of the original balm. This one is perfect!

I also tend to carry a couple of blushers with me but have singled out just one here that I have been wearing a lot lately for everyday:

MUA Blusher in shade 4: Is a soft peach blush which is really wearable and you can build up the colour depending on the look you are going for. I love MUA and their blushers are really good value. (£1!)

Vaseline Rosy Lips: I don't really use this to moisturise my lips but just to give them some colour if I'm not wearing lipstick. The reason I don't use this as a balm is beacuse I find Vaseline acutally doesn't make my lips feel nourished, just sort of leaves a barrier on them and I prefer a much thicker, deeper moisturising lip-balm. That said, I love the pink tint of this and sometimes use a tiny bit on my cheeks for a sheer pink glossy blush and a haelthy dewy glow.

Travelo spray: I have included this in here just as an extra, I love these for decanting perfume into as it means I don't have to carry a huge perfume bottle around weighing down my bag. I've got a few of these mini sprays, they are so easy to use and I have a few now for different perfumes. Great for a night out when you have a smaller bag, and great for travelling.

For my eyes everyday I would usually just wear something neutral:

Soap +Glory Lid Stuff palette in What's Nude: I love these neutral nude shadows for making my eyes look natural and polished but not too "done". There are three matte shades and one shimmery brown to work with.

NARS Longwear Eyeliner in Rue Bonaparte: I use this nude/flesh coloured liner on my waterline to open up the eyes and get rid of any redness, making me look more awake and it's more natural looking I think than using a white liner (on my skintone)

MAC Eye Kohl in Powersurge: This is a warm bronze liner which goes perfectly with the eyeshadows above. It's really soft, easy to smudge and can be built up for a more smokey metallic look.

Max Factor False Lash Effect: I change mascaras all the time but recently have been loving this as it really separates and gives defnition to my lashes. It also stays put all day and doesn't flake.

Lips: MAC lipstick in Freckletone: A gorgeous nude. I have lots of nude lipsticks that I go between but this has been my go to one recently, it's more of a peachy toned nude than say MAC's Velvet Teddy, which is more pink, (I love that one too and usually have that in my make up bag but this was an attempt to try and just show the streamlined version of my make up bag! :) )

MAC pro-longwear lipliner in Etcetera: A great nude liner which looks good with gloss or lipstick as it's so soft and blendable. If I want my lipstick to last longer, I will fill in my lips with this before applying it.

Sleek Put polish in Peach Perfection: Like lipstick, it was really hard to just pick one gloss/tint but I would normally carry a peach/nude toned gloss this this with me to top up during the day. I love these conditioners by Sleek and they last for ages!

Lastly, I normally have a couple of lip-balsm with me and two that I love are Burts Bee's honey lip balm and Nivea's Milk and Honey balm. I love the sweet smell of these and their thick texture. Both really work at keeping chapped lips at bay.

So that's it for my everyday make up bag! I'd like to say a big thanks to Helen for letting me guest post here, it's been fun to do!
