REVIEW: JENORIS PROFESSIONAL HAIR CARE PISTACHIO OIL HAIR TREATMENT

I've always been a little frightened by oils, in all honesty. Once I find one I like I stick to it like glue - purely because the threat of looking greasy terrifies me. Nevertheless, I ploughed into testing this Jenoris Pistachio Oil Hair Treatment and the results were good.

Hair oils were the hair care trend of 2012. There wasn't one blog/online title/magazine that didn't feature some kind of amazing oil that could transform hair from the disastrous into the silkily seductive. We're not just talking sleek and smooth - we're talking 'you-can-take-home-Prince-Charming-just-from-using-a-hair-oil' raves that were sometimes simply all talk and no proof. 2012 saw the rise of Argan Oil in absolutely everything and, let's face it, it got boring after a while.

Jenoris thankfully have something relatively new to offer. Pistachio and Borage Oils are the trademark ingredients in all of the entirety of their range. Pistachio is well known for having a lot of benefits and now it's been harnessed for hair care uses as it's brilliant at deeply nourishing, moisturising and strengthening hair. Pistachio nuts contain a substantial amount of a benefical fatty acids which help to keep hair healthy whilst stimulating growth. Pistachios and pistachio oil have also been found, during medical research, to help prevent hair loss.

This is a reasonably lightweight oil that I personally prefer to use as a pre-wash treatment. I apply it to my ends, where the most damage is, and leave it on for up to half an hour before I wash it out with shampoo. The scent is very lightly nutty, almost unnoticeable to be honest. It doesn't weigh my hair down and it doesn't make it feel tacky or leave it looking greasy. It's easy to wash out with just one good shampoo before conditioning and styling as normal.

I love how my hair feels properly pampered when I use this and how soft the ends are left. I don't necessarily use this with Jenoris shampoos and conditioners - I find it gives great results regardless of the brand it's paired with to be honest.

As a styling product I have to be very restrictive of how much I use with it. I apply the smallest couple of drops to my dry ends and smooth it through to give a sleek look. I wouldn't put this anywhere near my roots for fear of looking like I'd dipped my head in chip fryers but then I wouldn't do that with any oil.

All in all, it's a good oil and at last, something different from all of the Argan Oils available. It doesn't weigh down my hair and doesn't leave it looking greasy. My hair looks sleek, loved and healthy - what more could you want?
