ELEMIS FRESHSKIN EXTREME CLEAN 'DEEP CLEAN AND PURIFY' MINI KIT* - RRP £11.00
Mini Kits are brilliant for traveling so on my latest jaunt to London I decided to take this Elemis Freshskin Extreme Clean 'Deep Clean and Purify' Mini Kit with me to combat all of the pollution the big city leaves on my skin.

These particular products from the Elemis Freshskin range are actually relatively new to the brilliant skincare brand. The packaging is blue instead of pink to separate them out from the rest of the products as having a more powerful punch when it comes to combating skin issues as well as having a completely different scent and set of objectives.

ELEMIS FRESHSKIN SKIN CLEAR PURIFYING FACE WASH
The first thing that I noticed about this product is that it has an extremely potent herbal smell. Whilst it's not my preference when it comes to scents at least it's reassuring to know that face wash is packed with all of the goodness of botanicals that Elemis can possibly pack into them. Specifically aimed at problematic and blemished skin, this contains white willow bark (well known to be a natural antiseptic and acne treatment), extract of iris (for regulation of the water levels in skin) and cucumber (to soothe). It lathers up quite quickly when mixed with a little water before gently cleansing the skin. It doesn't make my skin feel stripped but I personally wouldn't double cleanse with this (for all you double cleansers out there...). It cut through makeup brilliantly too.

ELEMIS FRESHSKIN SKIN CLEAR MATTIFYING MOISTURISER
This isn't the thickest moisturiser on the market so I wouldn't use it at night unless I had no other options but as a day cream it's sensational. The scent isn't as strong as the face wash but it's still there - although I can live with that because once my base makeup was applied I can't detect a scent at all. It absorbs rapidly and within an hour I look matte and shine-free all over my face. It's specifically made for oily skin (I have dehydrated combination skin) so I think that anyone with oily skin would really love this product. In the heat of the UK summer (or at least, while we had one) it really did keep my face matte for hours. Ingredients include Shea Butter (for skin conditioning) and Bergamot (to reduce redness and work as an antiseptic on any blemishes).

ELEMIS FRESHSKIN DEEP CLEAN PURFIYING FACE MASK
I personally judge a face mask on how good it is by it's ability to make me break out in a blemish. This may sound bizarre because I'm aiming for clear skin so let me explain. If a face mask is truly purifying then it'll draw all impurities to the surface, much the same as a good facial will, and in doing so the skin may look slightly more blemished for a day or two straight after use but after that it glows with clarity and radiance. This is exactly what this face mask did and I adore it for it. It's a clay based mask, designed for oily skin, that really does draw out all the toxins and nastiness from the skin. It's ingredients include goji berries which are renowned for their anti-oxidant, free radical fighting properties. It's thick, easy to apply (if a little messy) and smells divine. It does tighten a lot when drying on the skin but it's not unpleasant. It leaves my skin feeling super soft for days afterwards. This is probably the star product of the entire box for me. I can't resist a good face mask ever.

Would I recommend this kit? If you want to sample what the Elemis Freshskin range has to offer then definitely go for this kit. I think it's brilliant for travelling too. If I was going abroad it would be perfect for a week in the sun and a slight pampering session. For three decent sized samples I really do think it's value for money too - especially when you take into consideration that some Elemis products are a little shy of £100.
