WEEKLY GOALS #1

Weekly_Goals

This is a new series where I set myself a few weekly goals. They're not massive goals - as much as I'd like to rule the world it just can't be done in a week (or can it?). However, I think it's important to set goals in our lives, no matter how small they seem, to be able to feel like we're accomplishing something each day rather than waste the time we have. A lot of research has gone into finding out the benefits of setting ourselves goals which have revealed some interesting results. Setting goals in life not only helps us all to focus on what we truly want to achieve but also helps us to learn what our strengths and weaknesses are as well as manage our expectations.

So without further ado, the 5 goals I have set myself this week are:

1. GET OUT OF BED HALF AN HOUR EARLIER EVERY DAY
I'm intrinsically lazy and therefore I'd rather have five minutes more sleep than get up and style my hair or hoover the rug before work. This usually results in me leaving the house later than I want to, applying my lipstick haphazardly and covered in cat hairs. I always feel rushed.

2. IRON MY CLOTHES ONCE A WEEK INSTEAD OF LEAVING IT UNTIL THERE'S A MASSIVE PILE
I desperately despise ironing. Some of you may have seen me tweet about it. I seem to leave it until I literally have nothing left to wear before I will take the board out of the cupboard and eye the pile with queasiness. I need to break this habit.

3. WEAR A BOLD LIPSTICK TO WORK
I tend to favour the natural look at work. I focus on my base and then add a light contour, some mascara and a hint of blush with a natural 'my lips but better' colour of lipstick. This comes from working in food environments for as long as I can remember where make-up is frowned upon. Now I work somewhere I can wear make-up and paint my nails it's time to step out of my 'comfort zone'.

4. CATCH UP ON WHATEVER I'VE RECORDED ON SKY
I flick through the TV Guide and think 'Ooh that's interesting', press record and then forget about it (this is why I'm never clued up on what's hot when it comes to TV). I need to catch up - if only for the sake of work conversations.

5. LISTEN TO ONE ALBUM I WOULD NEVER USUALLY LISTEN TO
When it comes to music I'm not one for sticking to a 'genre' but I do tend to stick to listening to whatever happens to be on the 'Top Lists' on Spotify. This means I flick between the singles I like without actually listening to a whole album. I need to expand my musical 'usuals'. Suggestions welcome.

Perhaps you could all join in with me or let me know your goals below in the comments or on Twitter
