ACCESSORIES: SHADES AND SUNNIES

A more fashion related post from me now as I have reread some of my profiles and I have been touting myself as an accessories expert and have only just realized that I haven't really got any accessories posts on this blog at all!

So in light of the weather (excuse the pun) I have bought my sunglasses out from their dormant state and as you can see from the photos above they've been gathering rather a lot of dust during April and June.

slightly cat like from new look - £4.99

ray-ban efforts by new look - £2.99

old attempts at looking cool by playboy - price forgotten (sorry)

these are actually dave's aviators but I 'borrow' them by primark - £2.50

victoria beckham-esque by river island - price forgotten (sorry)

gold aviators from wilkos - £1.00

coming over a bit kardashian by new look - £4.99

I do love my accessories but I have a special relationship with sunglasses. I always used to steal my father's whenever we were on holiday and he would always grumble and tell me off so I'd run off with them, making him have to stand and yell at me to give them back. I think that's why I've become a magpie for them now that I'm older - because no one can tell me off or steal them from me (although I'm yet to have children so history could repeat itself in the future).

I apologize for featuring so many photos of myself in this post but I wanted to portray what each set of glasses looks like on. My personal favourites at the moment are the 50s style cat-eye ones from New Look. Incidentally there is a great offer on in New Look at the moment on sunglasses - buy one get one free! Who doesn't love a bargain like that, especially in weather like this?

I believe that it is of the utmost importance to protect my eyes in these weather conditions because we're only blessed with one set each and I know that without my sight I would be lost. I have a lot of respect for the blind and have found the new Dove advert awe-inspiring but I still look after my eyes to the best of my abilities.

Alternatively you can make like Dave and not bother with eye protection at all... To the point where last week we were waiting in the local A&E unit for the nurse to take 3 splinters of wood out of his eye. He makes furniture for a living and when he was sawing the dust flew into his face (please don't think he simply poked himself in the eye with a stick - although that is not beyond something he would do if the mood struck him).

So here is a picture of Dave and the patch that he had to wear for the rest of the night. I laughed so hard when he came out of the treatment room that I think he has started to wear goggles at work. Mmmmm so sexy! Anyway he is lucky to have his sight left after this little fiasco.

Do you love your sunglasses as much as I do?
What do you think of my collection?
Let me know - all comments loved an appreciated!
