DR. LIPP ORIGINAL NIPPLE BALM FOR LIPS* - £11.00

Clinically proven to reduce roughness of the skin by 40% in one hour this Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips is fast becoming the lip care product of 2013.

I've got a stash of lip balms hidden in a draw in my spare room and it's got to the point where I rarely, if ever, review lip balms any more because, well, they all more or less do the same thing don't they? Or at least they claim to, the actual (lack of) benefits usually hidden by a delicious taste or staining colour. However, this Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips is something of shining diamond in between all of the other mediocre pots and tubes I have collecting dust and here is why.

If you get down to the raw ingredients this product contains pharmaceutical grade Lanolin (an oil that sheep naturally produce on their fleece). Lanolin is known to be beneficial for our skin as its very similar to the oils that we humans produce naturally. Lanolin is impossible to produce artificially too so it makes products containing it predominately natural - in Dr. Lipp's case this product is 100% natural - and very rare for allergies to occur from it's usage.

Legend has it that Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips has been passed from midwives to make up artists through to movie stars and models. It's used to soothe chaffed nipples when a newborn suckles too hard but also to give that alluring glossiness to the features of Victoria's Secret's Models.

Recommended by everyone that has tried it I was intrigued but wary. We bloggers all know about falling for hype only to be left disappointed. I started using this predominately at night before I went to bed and even after night one of use I could see a vast improvement in my pout. When I extracted a blackhead very messily from my lip (not pretty - left a rather massive hole of a pore) it was Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips that soothed it and, I believe, stopped it getting infected. I've put it on my niece when she fell over and scrapped herself falling over at the park and I've even allowed Dave to use it when he's cut himself at work. I can think of 100 uses for it but of course most of the time I've applied it to my lips and let it work it's magic - especially in the drying heat we've been enduring in the UK recently. It's tasteless and odorless which is brilliant too and even when I'm not using it to benefit my lips it leaves a lovely, ungreasy or sticky glossiness.

In my opinion it's even better than Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream - both very very similar products in what they can do but Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips is cheaper to buy, more travel friendly and compact and is 100% natural.

Would I recommend it? Yes. Yes I would. And strongly so. It's not often that a product with credentials such as these comes along and to be honest I've got an eye to purchase a back-up as soon as the money for it comes along so that I'm never without it. To be completely honest I think you should all go and purchase one of these miracle tubes because I doubt you'll regret it.

Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips is available from a wide range of stockists across the UK, most notably Cult Beauty where it's sold for £11.00 (prices vary between stockists).
