Another photo taken when I'm in my work uniform. Oh well - I will get better at this photography malarky soon I promise. It was just that when I realised this was the second part of the amazing package from Ellie from Ellalogy (I seriously can't thank you enough Ellie) in the USA I couldn't help myself and I simply had to try it straight away. I couldn't wait. I get far too excited about new products for this blog's good sometimes.
Tarte is a company that started out of a one bedroom apartment in 1999 by a beauty addict called Maureen Kelly that was becoming increasingly frustrated that all of her makeup was full of synthetic ingredients and chemical nasties. She was searching for environment friendly and 'healthy' makeup that looked glamorous as well. She started Tarte with the aim of making a beauty line that was complete in it's range of products, beautiful in terms of packaging and environmentally friendly as well as cruelty free. The brand now has a long list of celebrity enthusiasts as well as having been awarded lots of industry accolades and has been heavily featured in the press as the cosmetics brand to wear.

This is the Tarte LipSurgence Natural Lip Stain in 'Enchanted'. I've never tried anything by Tarte before and as I adore my lip products this was something I simply fell in love with straight away.

Akin to the Revlon Kissable Balm Stains and Clinique Chubby Sticks in the way this LipSurgence Natural Lip Stain applies and feels the crayon is super pigmented, glides onto the lips and stays in place for a hours, only needing the occasional 'top up' when the desired colour starts to fade.

I didn't have to be particularly precise when I drew the colour on and it didn't smudge or bleed. It's very very moisturising, although I'm not sure about the 6000% moisture increase claim, but doesn't feel particularly 'wet' or 'slimy' on the lips. It smells and, to a certain extent, tastes of sweet mint quite strongly which leaves a very slight tingle to the pout after application.

The buildable colour is what I adore about this product the most. As you can see from the swatches above - it's easy to build intensity and opt for either a sweet and pretty hint of the shade or a complete hit of it.

'Enchanted' is a divine colour for the up and coming summer months - it's a bright coral based pink (although it looks really barbie bright in the image) that will look beautiful with the rest of my makeup pared back and some beachy waves (my hair above had literally just been pulled out of it's messy bun - it wasn't intentional to look like I'd just fallen out of bed).

Tarte isn't available in the UK in shops (boo!) however after doing some digging about on the internet I've learned it is possible to get hold of Tarte on eBay but prices will vary. I also found a site that said Tarte can be gotten through the French Sephora website but I couldn't find anything when I searched it. Unhappy face. If you know where Tarte cosmetics can be gotten hold of please let me know.
