REVIEW: VICHY IDEALIA SMOOTHING AND ILLUMINATING CREAM

I received this 15ml sample in my Glossybox from last month. I've never tried any Vichy products before so this was a new experience for me. I've had to do some homework on the product too as I had no idea what it was for or why I should use it (having thrown out the Glossybox 'Beauty Menu'). I found it on the Boots website so I've taken my cue from there.

Firstly it's meant to be an anti-wrinkle cream whilst it refines the texture of the skin and illuminates to provide radiance. It's moisturising as well as nourishing. It doesn't contain parabens and it's hypoallergenic.

So far so good.

I've been using it as though it was a normal moisturiser as I don't have any wrinkles just yet. I do have fine lines around my eyes - 'crows feet' - but I don't really want those to disappear. They tell people I like to laugh a lot.

The feminine pink cream has a thick texture that glides onto the skin without a fuss, sinks in wonderfully and manages to keep me looking non-greasy. It has a slightly sweet and floral scent which is lovely (even Dave approves). My skin always feels soft and looks slightly dewy after I've used it. I love how it's designed for normal to combination skin whilst being caring for sensitive skin-types too. That is a massive bonus for me. It feels as though it was tailored to my specific needs.

I don't know about the long term effects of using this product but it's a pleasure to use and I will picking up the full size pot as soon as I can. I really like this product and I think it deserves to be appreciated and incorporated into my daily skincare regime.

Vichy Idealia Smoothing and Illuminating Cream - available from various beauty retailers. I found it on Boots online for £22.00.

  2. I love what you said about crows feet, that's such a good way to look at it! I think they make people look like they have smiley eyes :) Not such a fan of the crinkles I seem to have developed just underneath my eyes though :(
