DRY SWATCHES TOP // COMPACT - BOTTOM // BLENDED OUT |
WET SWATCH |
You know me and my highlighters - I adore them. With matte skin being the finish du jour during winter it's really important to add some colour and life back into the skin when applying make up and I've found no better way to do this than with a great highlight.
This Wet'n'Wild Fergie Shimmer Palette was one of the prizes that I won in the drugstore giveaway that I entered a little while ago. I was instantly drawn to it because I love the Wet'n'Wild eye shadow trios so much I knew this would a great product too. I wasn't mistaken.
It's a baked highlighter with pink and peach hues running through it. It can be used dry as a normal powder product or wet for a more high-impact finish.
It's reasonably pigmented although there is a fair amount of shimmer in there too so I find that I have to apply it really lightly otherwise I end up looking like a glitter ball. It blends reasonably well with a finger or a brush. The packaging is quite big so it's not something I want to lug about with me in my bag nor is it particularly attractive which puts me off even more. The information on the back is baffling: trios? Does it mean trio of colours? Or is there supposed to be three in this range? Perhaps I'm being very British about the whole thing and it makes perfect sense to our American cousins... or I'm having a thick day!
Having closely examined the swatches I'd say that if MAC Stereo Rose MSF and MAC Soft and Gentle MSF got together to have a baby this would be the colour it came out as.
It looks really natural on the skin and I enjoy wearing it so whilst it may take me a while to get through (it's huge) I'll be keeping it in my collection until I find something I like more. Unfortunately the Wet'n'Wild range is only available in the US at the moment.
This is beautiful, esp the wet swatch & you get so much product. I wish I'd bought this whilst I was in the States. I bought quite a few Wet n Wild shadows & nail polishes thought :o)
