HOW PAPERSELF LASHES ARE SUPPOSED TO LOOK WITHOUT MY CACK HANDED APPLICATION - IMAGES TAKEN FROM PAPERSELF.COM |
In preparation for the #julylondonmeetup I've been in touch with some very exciting brands, one of which is PAPERSELF. I personally adore the concept of PAPERSELF - using delicate paper to make beautiful outstanding lashes and products that are really different from the normal. Started in 2009 by designer Chunwei Liao, PAPERSELF is fast becoming recognized for the innovative designs not only in accessories but also furniture and home-ware as well as the market for eye-lashes.
You may remember the limited edition Bourjois lashes that were released last autumn that resembled lace? That was in conjunction with PAPERSELF. Ever seen anything different, eye catching and beautiful on the models at the Fashion weeks? That is PAPERSELF.
They're stunning products (can I possibly say that any more than I already have?) and I was thrilled to have be sent two pairs to review before the London Blogger Meet Up 2013. The pairs I was sent are called 'Peonies' and 'Antique Jewellery' which I spent a good day just gazing at. They're intricately beautiful fascinating products that really capture the elegant yet fun side of beauty.
The products themselves are really easy to use as they're not as stiff or awkward to move about on the lashes like the plastic strips on normal false lashes are/can be. I'm atrocious at applying false lashes - my hands aren't steady enough but I found these really simple.
They sit really comfortably on the lash line without scratching the eyelid and are light as a feather to wear. I hardly noticed they were on at all where as heavy synthetic lashes tend to annoy me a lot. I genuinely love the look that I achieve with these lashes. Although I'm not confident enough to wear them full-on day to day for my usual comings and goings I will definitely wear them on a night out to add a chic twist to an otherwise boring smokey eye or pair with a bright vermillion lip. I love the idea of perhaps sporting a little accent on the corner of my lashes for a girly day shopping though. I think that would look so quirky and pretty.
There are literally so many different designs to choose from that I couldn't just pick one - I'd have to purchase several and purchase several I will. They're beautiful.
PAPERSELF lashes are available online from the PAPERSELF website. RRP: £12.50 each. Follow Paperself on Twitter and Facebook as well as Instagram for pictures, news, launches and competitions.

Wow, these look so delicate and feminine. Almost ethereal, if I might say so.
